Date, place: 2007-11-10, Torwar, Warszawa back
It was the eighth time Maciej Kawulski?s and Martin Lewandowski?s product saw the light of day. Another huge mixed martial arts event with another eight man tournament featuring amazing Polish and foreign fighters. Once again the tourney?s cast was star-studded. Karol Bedorf, Lukasz Wos, KSW Elimination champion Jan Blachowicz and KSW Team member Krzysztof Kulak represented Poland. The line up was completed with KSW 5 champion Francis Carmont, as well as Ishkhan Zaharyan, Andre Fyeet and Olexiy Oliynyk. Amazing battles, Blachowicz?s broken hand, Carmont upset against Bedorf these were the highlight of that night. Krzysztof Kulak and Oliynyk reached the final battle. It was the second time Kulak came really close to winning the title. The Sambo fighter from Russian Legion team denied him the victory with his signature move an Ezekiel choke and he became the third foreign contestant who won KSW gold. The tournament bouts were full of exciting moments, the same happened in the additional fights. The first one was the Polish BJJ and MMA pioneer Piotr Bagi Baginski retirement bout. He won his farewell fight against Maik Strumbries. Lukasz Juras Jurkowski made a huge statement upsetting French MMA star Moise Rimbon. The Pole clearly beat the favorite after a hard-fought 10-minute battle. In the last extra fight Mamed Khalidov earned another victory to his record. The fighter from Olsztyn met the outstanding boxer from Holland Dave Dalgliesh. It didn?t take long for Khalidov to secure a double-leg takedown and pull off another amazing first round submission. KSW 8 was another successful event.
