Martial Arts Confrontation VI First time for thousands

The October 14th 2006 was a breakthrough day for KSW Federation. For the first time in history the show took place in the multi-thousand seat arena, the Warsaw?s Torwar Hall. The success was even greater when it occurred that the tickets are sold out several weeks before the show. The event organized by Maciej Kawulski and Martin Lewandowski was fully professional. Not only high-tech background and large monitors all over the arena, but also the main characters, the fighters from all over the globe brought the show to another higher level. One of the best mixed martial artists in the world Alistar Overeem from Holland was a special guest, Nikica Gulin (Croatia), Igor Araujo (Brazil), Martin Zawada (Germany), Evert Fyeet (Holland), Martin Malhasyan (Russia), Valdas Pocevicius (Lithuania) were the foreigners who were set to defend their countries honor and fighting styles in the KSW ring. The Polish team consisted of four fighters, two of them from Warsaw: Igor Kolacin and Lukasz Jurkowski, Krzysztof Kulak from Czestochowa and Michal Materla from Szczecin. The two latter ones made it to the tournament final. Materla beat his compatriot, tapping him out with a slick guillotine choke. Apart from the tourney, traditionally there was an extra fight, in which Jurkowski battled Zawada. The German was awarded the victory after two exciting rounds of action.
